aOCR

Document parsing API that returns structured data, not just text

Visit official site

What aOCR is

A document parsing API. It takes PDFs, images, spreadsheets and presentations and returns structured data, which is a different job from OCR proper: the point is fields that land in a system, not text on a page.

Handwriting and multilingual documents are supported, and it can pull from Gmail, Google Drive and SharePoint, exporting as JSON, CSV, XML or spreadsheet.

What you can do with it

  • Build document intake for invoices, forms, bills and compliance records
  • Extract legal and medical document fields into rows
  • Connect existing document sources rather than uploading by hand
  • Feed results into a pipeline through the API

Who it is for

  • Technical teams and enterprises automating document-heavy processes
  • Finance operations, compliance and logistics work

What to watch out for

  • Accuracy varies with document quality and layout complexity
  • Validate extracted values against rules and sample them before they reach systems of record
  • Industry compliance rules apply to how long parsed data is retained
  • Know where processing happens and who can see the output when documents are sensitive

FAQ

Is this just OCR?

No. It parses documents into structured fields intended for downstream systems rather than merely extracting text.

What inputs does it accept?

PDFs, images, spreadsheets and presentations, including from connected sources such as Gmail, Drive and SharePoint.

Can output go straight into production?

Validate first. Amounts, names and contract fields should be checked against rules and sampled before being written into records.
