  2. Click Markdown → HTML to get the rendered HTML on the right, with a live preview below.
  3. Paste HTML and click HTML → Markdown to reverse the conversion for editors that only accept Markdown.
  4. Use Sample to load an example and see both directions.

Common use cases

FAQ

Q: Is the conversion faithful to GitHub-Flavored Markdown? A: It uses the marked parser with sensible defaults (tables, strikethrough and task lists are handled). Edge-case extensions from one specific site may differ — test before large migrations.

Q: Does HTML → Markdown keep tables? A: The Turndown library converts common HTML (headings, lists, code, links, images) to Markdown. Highly custom HTML with inline styles converts less cleanly.

Q: Where does the conversion happen? A: Locally, on demand. Marked and Turndown are small libraries fetched only when you click convert, keeping the page fast.

Your data stays on this device

Markdown ↔ HTML runs 100% locally. Everything you paste or drop is processed by your own browser and never transmitted. Nothing is stored on our servers — close the tab and it is gone.

Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used for analytics. The page works even with your network disconnected after first load.
